Beach Re-nourishment

The City and Collier County are about to begin a beach re-nourishment project Nov 1st. Signs will be appearing on the roads affected with the truck haul of sand early Oct just to let drivers know this will be happening beginning Nov 1st. Trucks will come into town off I75 and west on Golden Gate Parkway to 41 then south to Banyan and west on Banyan to Lowdermilk Park the trucks will enter the park on the north end ( which normally is the exit) dump their sand in that north parking lot and exit on to GSB to proceed north onto Mooring Line and then at 41 turn right to get back on Golden Gate and out to I75. The sand will be moved from the park out onto the beach at the very north end of the Park and be used to widen the beach from that north end of the Park up to the south side jetty of Doctors Pass. This is a small project and is scheduled to be completed within one month- in fact they hope to be done by Thanksgiving. Lowdermilk Park and its facilities and Beach Will Remain Open while this project is taking place.
